Representatives for major flight attendant unions have expressed outrage following revelations that Google parent Alphabet is bidding to acquire extensive employee data files as part of Spirit Airlines asset liquidation auctions.

The asset bundle includes years of historical flight crew shift logs, location tracking data, and internal communication records. Union leaders contend that selling worker personal telemetry without consent sets a dangerous precedent in corporate bankruptcy proceedings.

Google stated the data would be used exclusively to improve flight delay forecasting models, but privacy advocates are requesting FTC intervention to enforce strict data anonymization.
