GitLab has released version 19.2 of its DevSecOps platform, announced on 16 July 2026. The release adds agentic automation aimed at the security and review work that has piled up as AI coding tools generate more code than developers can check by hand. Among the changes, four features move out of beta or into public beta, including Dependency Scanning Auto-Remediation and Security Review Flow.

To install or upgrade, move your GitLab instance to version 19.2 using the same install path you already run for your self-managed or hosted deployment. After the upgrade completes, enable or turn on the 19.2 agentic automation features you need, such as Dependency Scanning Auto-Remediation and Security Review Flow, according to whether each one has left beta or is available in public beta for your plan.
Treat beta status as the main gotcha: some of these capabilities are newly out of beta and others are only in public beta, so availability can differ by feature and environment. Verify the upgrade by confirming the running version is 19.2 and by checking that Dependency Scanning Auto-Remediation and Security Review Flow appear and run as expected in your security and review workflows.
