To install or upgrade, move your long-running agent, coding, and knowledge-work traffic onto Grok 4.6 from SpaceXAI. Replace calls to an older Grok model, or to a stand-in such as Kimi K3, with Grok 4.6 so those jobs run on the new model and on the new pricing. Confirm the provider is SpaceXAI, formerly known as xAI, before you cut over.
Market and competitive context
Do not leave production traffic on the former xAI name or on an older Grok model after the switch. After the upgrade, verify you are on Grok 4.6 and that your results line up with the published Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index score of 61, which surpasses Kimi K3 and matches GPT-5.6 Sol. Recheck billing after the cutover, because the pricing is designed to make long-running agent, coding, and knowledge-work loads cheaper to run.
