The capability is presented as native to Bedrock rather than an add-on integration path, so teams do not need to onboard third-party vendors, orchestrate external APIs, or run separate third-party vendor security reviews to put web-grounded answers in production.

Technically, Web Search runs as a built-in server-side tool inside Amazon Bedrock. Grounding is handled on the platform side: the model can draw on current web knowledge without the application owning a separate search client, ranking stack, or multi-vendor request path. Enablement is described as part of the Bedrock tool surface, so the orchestration burden sits with the managed service instead of custom glue between a foundation model and an outside search provider.
