Microsoft Officially Ends Support for Classic Teams Client

Microsoft has officially begun the end of support phase for the classic Microsoft Teams client, forcing enterprise users to transition.

Microsoft Teams end of support

Marking the end of an era for enterprise communication, Microsoft has officially initiated the end of support phase for the classic Microsoft Teams client. This move is designed to force organizations to transition to the newer, significantly overhauled version of the application.

The new Teams client, which Microsoft rebuilt from the ground up, promises up to two times faster performance and 50 percent less memory usage compared to its predecessor. However, the mandatory transition has caused friction for IT administrators managing massive deployments across complex enterprise environments.

Users remaining on the classic client will begin seeing persistent warning banners before the application is eventually blocked from connecting to Microsoft 365 services entirely.
