Motorola Partnering with GrapheneOS to Launch Hardened Privacy Smartwatches and Phones
Motorola has officially partnered with the open-source GrapheneOS project to develop factory-built, security-hardened smartphones scheduled for commercial release in 2027.
The upcoming devices will feature custom hardware-backed sandboxing, physical kill-switches for micro-cameras and microphones, and out-of-the-box GrapheneOS firmware without preinstalled telemetry or Google Mobile Services. While priced higher than standard consumer Pixels, the hardware aims to deliver enterprise-grade privacy to privacy-conscious professionals and journalists.
