OpenAI has officially launched "Frontier," a new platform specifically designed for enterprises to deploy, manage, and monitor autonomous AI agents at scale. The move signals OpenAI's intent to move beyond individual chat interactions and into the heart of corporate operations.

Agents as Employees

The Frontier platform treats AI agents like digital employees, complete with onboarding processes, access controls, and performance monitoring. Enterprises can build custom agents for specific roles—such as customer support, data analysis, or supply chain management—and integrate them directly into existing workflows.

"The future of work is not just humans using AI, but humans and AI agents collaborating as peers," said OpenAI's Head of Enterprise. Frontier provides the governance and security layer necessary for large organizations to trust autonomous systems with critical business tasks.
