Preorders for Samsung’s new Z Fold and Flip 8 come with up to $350 in gift cards

Samsung opened preorders for three new foldables at Galaxy Unpacked: the Galaxy Z Flip 8 from $1,199.99, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 from $1,899.99, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra from $2,099.99. All three go on sale August 7th. Preorders include up to $350 in gift cards, a direct cash-like offset against the sticker price.
The lineup is split by form factor and tier. The Flip 8 is the clamshell at the lowest entry price. The Fold 8 is the book-style foldable in the middle. The Fold 8 Ultra sits above it as the premium Fold SKU, with a $200 step up from the standard Fold 8 and a $900 gap over the Flip 8. Availability is the same date for all three, so the differentiation is product and price, not launch timing.

For builders and product teams, the numbers matter more than the event branding. A $1,200–$2,100 range with a preorder gift-card credit is how Samsung is asking buyers to choose among three foldable SKUs at once. That shapes expectations for accessory ecosystems, carrier promotions, and enterprise procurement that budget around launch windows rather than mid-cycle refreshes.
In the foldable market, Samsung is still treating Flip and Fold as parallel lines and adding an Ultra on the Fold side. The pricing ladder—Flip under Fold under Fold Ultra—keeps a clear step structure instead of a single flagship. The $350 gift-card offer is the short-term lever against list prices that sit well above standard non-folding flagships.
Watch preorder demand versus the August 7th sell-through window, and whether the gift-card credit is enough to move buyers from the Flip 8 into the Fold 8 or Fold 8 Ultra. The practical split to track is how many units land at $1,199.99 versus the $1,899.99–$2,099.99 Fold tier once preorders convert.
