The headline feature of the new watches is the BioActive Sensor array, which uses optical and electrical sensors to provide continuous metabolic and non-invasive blood glucose estimates.

While the blood glucose feature is positioned as a general wellness tracker rather than a medical-grade diagnostic tool, it represents a significant milestone in consumer health tech. The Watch 8 Ultra is constructed from aerospace-grade titanium and features an dual-frequency GPS system designed for outdoor endurance athletes.

Battery life has been improved across the lineup, with the standard model lasting 48 hours on a single charge and the Ultra reaching up to 100 hours in low-power mode.
