Against All Odds, SpaceX Tugs Starship Super Heavy Booster into Port After 24 Days at Sea

SpaceX marine recovery crews have successfully brought a Starship Super Heavy booster back to shore after navigating 24 days of severe ocean swells in the Gulf of Mexico.

Navigating Marine Hazards and Structural Stabilization at Sea

After spending 24 days adrift in turbulent waters following a successful soft ocean splashdown, SpaceX Super Heavy booster arrived safely at Port Brownsville, Texas. Marine tugs operated around the clock to stabilize the massive 230-foot stainless steel rocket stage.

Despite exposure to saltwater and high-wave action, initial visual inspections revealed that the Raptor engine cluster and grid fins suffered minimal structural corrosion. Recovery crews secured the booster onto a specialized transport rig for transport back to Starbase.
