Chinese Regulators Order Tesla to Issue Over-the-Air Software Recall for 3M Vehicles

Chinese market regulators have instructed Tesla to execute an over-the-air (OTA) software update covering nearly 3 million Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles imported and manufactured in China.

The regulatory action targets software logic controlling automatic door latch unlocking during emergency stop scenarios and reinforces driver attentiveness monitoring alerts during Autopilot engagement. Tesla confirmed that the update will deploy seamlessly over cellular connections without requiring physical service center visits.
