Walmart has completed its acquisition of Vibe.co, a TV advertising company. The deal was announced in June and folds Vibe.co into Walmart Connect, Walmart’s connected TV advertising platform.
Vibe.co’s product sits in connected TV advertising, the layer that places and measures ads on streaming and app-based television rather than linear broadcast. Under Walmart Connect, that capability is intended to run inside Walmart’s existing retail media stack, so advertisers can reach CTV inventory through the same commercial relationship they already use for Walmart’s broader ad products.

For engineers and builders working on retail media, ad tech, or CTV measurement, the close of the deal is a concrete signal that a major retailer is treating connected TV as a first-class surface inside its own advertising platform, not as a side partnership. Integration work will matter more than the announcement itself: identity, campaign planning, creative delivery, and attribution across store, e-commerce, and living-room screens have to line up under one platform brand.
The move puts Walmart Connect in closer competition with other large retail and commerce media networks that are also expanding beyond on-site placements into video and CTV. Owning a dedicated TV advertising company rather than only reselling third-party inventory is a structural choice: more control over the stack, and more pressure to productize CTV as part of Walmart’s ad offering instead of a bolt-on.
Watch how Walmart Connect presents Vibe.co after the close—whether Vibe.co remains a visible brand, becomes a backend capability, or is renamed into Walmart’s own CTV product line. That packaging will tell builders and buyers whether this is a full platform merge or a quiet capability tuck-in.
