AI research lab Anthropic has introduced the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), an open-source technical specification designed to standardize how generative AI models interface with physical hardware, laboratory instruments, and industrial robotics.
By providing unified API bindings and real-time telemetry protocols, MHS enables frontier models like Claude 3.5 Sonnet to directly interpret sensor outputs, command multi-axis robotic manipulators, and monitor automated chemical synthesis.
