Global Authorities Arrest Two Alleged TeamPCP Hackers Targeting OpenAI & Mercor

In a coordinated international law enforcement operation, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) alongside federal law enforcement partners have arrested two individuals suspected of belonging to TeamPCP, a prolific cybercrime syndicate targeting high-profile technology companies.

TeamPCP gained notoriety after claiming unauthorized network intrusions against AI hiring platform Mercor, vector database vendors, and cloud infrastructure connected to major AI research labs. Authorities seized encrypted storage devices, cryptocurrency wallets, and server infrastructure during early morning raids.

Law enforcement officials stated that forensic analysis of seized infrastructure will assist in identifying additional co-conspirators and retrieving exfiltrated corporate data.
