Bluesky Introduces Algorithmic Opt-Out Control to Limit Viral Distribution
Decentralized social platform Bluesky has rolled out a new privacy feature termed algorithmic opt-out, enabling users to exercise granular control over how their posts are distributed across algorithmic recommendation feeds and trending content lists.
When activated, the setting adds an explicit metadata flag to user posts that custom feed generators and recommendation algorithms on the AT Protocol must respect. Posts from opt-out accounts will only be visible to direct followers and users explicitly searching for those accounts.
