Google Begins Rolling Out Anti-Motion Sickness 'Motion Assist' Dots on Android 17

Google has commenced the official rollout of Motion Assist, an accessibility feature designed to alleviate motion sickness for smartphone users traveling in vehicles.

Currently available on Google Pixel handsets running Android 17, Motion Assist displays discrete animated dots along display margins that move in sync with vehicle accelerometer data. By aligning visual reference points with inner ear motion cues, the system mitigates sensory disorientation.

Early user feedback indicates marked reductions in vehicle-induced eye strain and nausea during commute reading.
