Meta released Muse Code, a terminal-based AI coding agent now in beta, together with Muse Spark 1.2. The release pairs those two products and highlights persistent async background agents as part of the coding setup. That is the core change if you already follow Meta AI coding tools or plan to add a terminal agent to your workflow.

To install or upgrade, start from Meta’s research post that introduces Muse Code and Muse Spark 1.2 at research.meta.ai and use the access path Meta provides there for the Muse Code beta. If you already run Muse Spark, upgrade that installation to Muse Spark 1.2 rather than staying on an older Spark release. Install Muse Code as the separate terminal-based agent only after you have confirmed you are following Meta’s beta instructions from that same release announcement.

Because Muse Code is in beta, treat it as pre-stable software: keep it out of production-critical paths until you have tried it on a non-critical repo.
