NASA Unveils Upgraded T-38 Astronaut Jet Fleet Featuring Modernized Avionics & Artemis Livery

NASA has officially unveiled the updated look and upgraded avionics suite for its fleet of T-38 Talon supersonic twin-engine jet trainers stationed at Ellington Field near Johnson Space Center.

The high-altitude T-38 jets have served as the primary flight training platform for NASA astronauts since the Gemini era. The newly completed overhaul introduces modern glass cockpit displays, synthetic vision systems, and a striking blue-and-white Artemis program livery.

Astronauts fly the T-38 to maintain high-g decision-making skills and crew coordination prior to launching on lunar-bound Orion spacecraft.
