OpenAI and SoftBank have finalized the details of their much-anticipated joint venture, "The Deployment Company," backed by a $10 billion investment. The mission of the new entity is to bridge the gap between frontier AI models and enterprise-scale implementation.
While OpenAI continues to push the boundaries of AGI research, The Deployment Company will focus on the "last mile" of AI integration. This includes building custom agentic workflows, providing specialized fine-tuning services, and managing the massive infrastructure required for global enterprise deployments. SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son described the JV as the "engine of the AI revolution," providing the capital and operational expertise to transform every industry through autonomous intelligence.
