The Dutch quantum pioneer QuantWare has secured 78 million in a Series B round to construct "KiloFab." This facility is poised to become the world’s largest dedicated quantum open-architecture foundry, specifically designed for the mass-production of processors that exceed the 10,000-qubit threshold.
KiloFab aims to solve the scalability bottleneck by standardizing the manufacturing of superconducting quantum circuits. This move toward foundry-as-a-service allows smaller research labs and private enterprises to design their own custom quantum chips without the multibillion-dollar cost of building their own specialized cleanrooms.
