Raspberry Pi 5 Compute Module Launches with Dedicated NPU for Edge AI Robotics
Raspberry Pi Trading has officially launched the Compute Module 5 (CM5), bringing the high-performance architecture of the Raspberry Pi 5 into a compact, industrial form factor equipped with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
The integrated NPU delivers 13 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second) of local INT8 matrix inferencing power while drawing under 7 watts of electricity. Industrial designers and robotics hobbyists can now run real-time object recognition, voice detection, and autonomous navigation locally on low-cost hardware.
