Show HN: Ocean – All your team's agent sessions in one place

Ocean is a Show HN tool that puts a team’s agent sessions in one place. Its builders spent a lot of time in Claude Code and Codex with a friend and kept losing the context behind changes because every agent session lived on one person’s laptop. By the time code reached a PR, the reasoning that produced it was gone.

Commits, PRs, and docs were not enough: they mainly capture the end result, not the path an agent took. Ocean keeps those sessions in one searchable place so people on the team can find the work and the thinking behind it without reconstructing it from diffs alone.

The product mechanics are straightforward. Sessions from Claude Code and Codex are collected into a shared, searchable store. Anyone on the team can check out another person’s session and ask questions such as what a teammate was working on. Agents can use the same access, so both humans and tools can query prior session context.

For engineers and builders, that fills a real gap. Pairing with coding agents produces a long trail of decisions, dead ends, and intermediate choices that never land in the final PR. When that trail stays on a single laptop, collaboration depends on memory and informal handoff. Shared, queryable sessions make agent-driven work reviewable the way code review expects artifacts to be reviewable.

In market terms, this sits next to Git and PR tools rather than replacing them. Version control and pull requests remain the system of record for what shipped; Ocean aims to be the system of record for how agent-assisted work got there. That is especially relevant for small teams that share agent workflows across Claude Code and Codex and need a common place for that history.

The practical takeaway is to treat agent session history as a team asset, not a private laptop log. Watch whether Ocean’s searchable, multi-user model becomes how teams audit “why did the agent change this,” and whether checkout-and-query of a teammate’s session becomes a normal part of review when code lands in a PR.
