SpaceX Successfully Deploys 60 Direct-to-Cell Starlink Satellites into Low Earth Orbit

SpaceX has successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 60 next-generation Direct-to-Cell Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The payload expands SpaceX's orbital constellation engineered to connect directly with standard LTE smartphones.

The new satellite batch features upgraded eNodeB modem payloads capable of delivering higher bandwidth density for voice calls, SMS messaging, and low-bitrate data streaming in remote regions without terrestrial cell towers. Telecom partners globally plan to bundle satellite roaming by default.
