Anthropic is launching Claude Cowork on mobile and web

Anthropic is bringing Claude Cowork to mobile and web starting Tuesday, ending the platform's run as a desktop-only product. Until now, the AI collaboration tool could only be reached through the Claude desktop app for macOS and Windows, which limited it to users willing to install dedicated software on a computer. Opening it up to browsers and phones removes that barrier entirely and puts Cowork in front of anyone with a Claude account, wherever they happen to be working.
The rollout follows a familiar tiered pattern. Max subscribers get access first, while users on other Claude plans will have to wait for availability in the coming weeks. That sequencing rewards Anthropic's highest-paying customers with early access and gives the company a smaller initial population to absorb any scaling or reliability issues before the broader user base arrives.
The move also says something about where Anthropic thinks Cowork fits. A desktop-app requirement suggests a tool aimed at people at their workstations; mobile and web availability signals ambitions for something people reach for throughout the day, not just during dedicated desk sessions. How quickly the expansion reaches non-Max plans will be worth watching, since "in the coming weeks" leaves Anthropic room to move slowly if the initial rollout strains under demand.
