Amazon launched early Black Friday hardware promotions across Apple's lineup, discounting 1TB M5 MacBook Air laptops by $250. This represents the lowest price tracked in five months for these configurations. Detailed in 9to5Mac's report, the retailer also marked down smartwatches, wireless earbuds, and smart home hardware across concurrent seasonal sales events.

This report details the M5 MacBook Air promotional pricing, retailer ordering rules, configuration differences, and broader market trade-offs. It is intended for students, mobile workers, and creative professionals evaluating high-capacity portable computers ahead of holiday sales. Readers will find exact pricing, color restrictions, and hardware comparisons to help determine the optimal configuration.

The offer: M5 MacBook Air $250 off

Amazon's early Black Friday sale reduces high-capacity 1TB M5 MacBook Air models by $250 off their original list prices. The promotion covers both screen sizes configured with 16GB of unified memory and a 1TB solid-state drive. Under this discount, the 13-inch 1TB M5 MacBook Air drops from its regular $1,599 price to $1,349 shipped. Meanwhile, the 15-inch 1TB edition drops from $1,799 to $1,549 shipped. Both markdowns represent the steepest price cuts recorded for these 1TB configurations in nearly five months.

Retailers also introduced price reductions across other M5 MacBook Air specifications. The 13-inch model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage dropped by $200 from $1,299 down to $1,099. The 15-inch 16GB/512GB configuration fell from $1,499 to $1,299. For purchasers seeking extra multitasking bandwidth, the 24GB unified memory editions with 1TB of storage also saw $200 reductions. The 13-inch 24GB/1TB model now costs $1,599 instead of $1,799, while the 15-inch 24GB/1TB version sells for $1,799 down from its standard $1,999 list price.

How to get M5 MacBook Air $250 off

Accessing the $250 discount requires ordering eligible units directly on Amazon during its early Black Friday sale. The discounted laptops include complimentary Prime shipping, offering expedited home delivery based on local warehouse availability. Customers do not need promo codes or hardware trade-ins, as the retailer applies the markdown automatically at checkout. Because high-demand Apple hardware frequently experiences fluctuating inventory during holiday sales, buyers should complete their orders promptly and monitor dispatch estimates to ensure delivery matches their personal scheduling needs.

Color selection impacts eligibility on the 13-inch model. For the 15-inch M5 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, Amazon applies the full $250 price reduction across all four standard factory finishes. On the 13-inch 16GB/1TB model, however, the $250 savings applies to all colorways except the Silver option. Buyers who want the Silver model must either choose Midnight, Starlight, or Space Gray instead, or wait to see if Amazon extends identical promotional terms to Silver inventory later.

How M5 MacBook Air $250 off compares

This promotion undercuts the pricing seen during autumn Prime Day, establishing the lowest prices tracked for these configurations in nearly five months. While base 512GB models carry standard $200 discounts, the 1TB models deliver stronger relative value because Apple typically charges steep fees for factory storage expansions. Securing 1TB of built-in storage for only $250 more than the discounted 512GB variant represents a cost-effective upgrade for users planning to keep their laptop for multiple years without resorting to cumbersome external drives.

The MacBook Air discounts align with several other Apple price cuts. Amazon launched clearance deals on Apple Watch Ultra 3 models, dropping them by $250 to $649 for Milanese loop editions and $549 for Ocean, Trail, or Alpine bands. Apple Watch Ultra 4 models sit at $99 off, selling for $799 or $699 depending on band choice. Additionally, AirPods Pro 3 dropped by $50 to $199, AirPods Max 2 reached $449 across all five colors, and the Apple HomeView smart display opened pre-orders at $289.99.

Who should buy M5 MacBook Air $250 off

These discounted 1TB M5 MacBook Air systems suit professionals, developers, and university students requiring ample onboard storage and reliable portable performance. Having 16GB of unified memory ensures smooth multitasking across browsers, office suites, and creative tools without memory pressure. The 1TB drive accommodates substantial local file libraries, media projects, and application caches, preventing users from filling entry-level drives quickly. For mobile users who prioritize fanless silence, all-day battery efficiency, and slim aluminum chassis construction, this discount provides an ideal opportunity to acquire high-capacity hardware.

Deciding between the two discounted screen sizes depends on individual portability preferences. The 13-inch model at $1,349 serves commuters and frequent travelers who need a lightweight machine that packs easily into compact bags and fits cramped workspace surfaces. The 15-inch model at $1,549 caters to users who manage side-by-side windows and extensive workspaces without attaching external monitors. Because both sizes feature the same M5 processing chip, display pixel density, and port array, buyers can choose purely based on display size and portability.

The catch with M5 MacBook Air $250 off

Shoppers must be mindful of inventory constraints and configuration exclusions. On the 13-inch 1TB configuration, the $250 discount excludes the Silver finish, forcing buyers who want the lowest price to pick Space Gray, Midnight, or Starlight. Furthermore, retail promotions during early Black Friday periods often experience rapid inventory depletion, leading to postponed delivery dates or sudden price changes. Competing retailers like Best Buy have not matched these new laptop cuts, offering only open-box HomePod mini 2 units at $126 to $127 rather than wide notebook discounts.

Buyers should also evaluate upcoming hardware before purchasing an M5 MacBook Air. Pre-orders are already underway for new M6 MacBook Pro systems starting at $1,999 for 16GB/1TB, $2,199 for 24GB/1TB, and $2,399 for 32GB/1TB tiers, as well as 14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro units with PROLED XDR displays at $2,899. Users who require active cooling fans for heavy rendering, brighter display panels, or extra connectivity ports may find the fanless MacBook Air constrained. However, for buyers wanting thin, lightweight everyday productivity, the $250 discount remains a strong value.
