The iPad is one of the most-searched Apple products during Black Friday week. Apple's line-up currently has four families: iPad (A16), iPad Air (M4), iPad mini and iPad Pro (M5).
The right deal depends on which model you need, not which one has the largest percentage off. This guide uses Apple's own comparison page to separate them.

iPad (A16): the default for most buyers
The entry iPad has an 11-inch display, the A16 chip and 128 GB of base storage, according to Apple's comparison page. Apple lists Apple Intelligence support for it. It works with the USB-C Apple Pencil, not the Apple Pencil Pro.
For streaming, schoolwork, notes and video calls, this is the iPad to watch on Black Friday. Storage is the one upgrade worth paying for if you download a lot of video. Otherwise, put the savings toward a case.
iPad Air (M4) and iPad Pro (M5): when to step up
The iPad Air comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes with the M4 chip, starts at 128 GB and works with Apple Pencil Pro. The iPad Pro comes in the same two sizes with the M5 chip and starts at 256 GB.
Step up if you draw with Apple Pencil Pro, edit photos or video, or use the iPad as a laptop replacement with a keyboard. If you mainly watch and browse, the A16 iPad gives most of the experience for much less.
iPad mini: check the generation
When we checked, Apple's site listed a new iPad mini with the A20 Pro chip and an 8.5-inch display as available for pre-order. That means Black Friday may bring clearance prices on the previous iPad mini.
A discounted older mini can be good value for reading and travel, but check the chip named in the listing. It decides how many years of iPadOS updates you will get.
Black Friday 2026 dates on Amazon.com
- Black Friday: November 23–27, 2026
- Cyber Monday: November 28–30, 2026
Deals often start before the official window and repeat during Cyber Monday. If you track the price history of your exact model from now on, you will recognise a real low when it appears rather than reacting to a countdown timer.
Deal vetting on Amazon.com: a 60-second checklist
- Chart the price history: if today's price was matched or beaten in the last 90 days, the countdown timer is just pressure.
- Read the seller line: shipped and sold by Amazon, or a well-reviewed brand store, makes returns easier.
- Open the exact variant: colour, storage and generation variants share one review pool, so make sure the price you see is for the model you want.
- Compare renewed units: an Amazon Renewed unit with a full warranty sometimes beats the "deal" price on new stock.
